When little Lucy Rutledge shows signs of abuse, her bohemian music teacher and aunt, Zoe King, is dragged back into the terror of her own childhood trauma. A lifelong hyper-vigilance drives Zoe to suspect a member of the family until an innocent drawing by Lucy refocuses Zoe’s attention on a far more sinister and seemingly untouchable perpetrator. Dismissed as flaky, Zoe alienates those around her with her accusations but, determined not to allow Lucy to suffer as she had, she doggedly pursues her target. When the perpetrator declares a dangerous private war, Zoe risks all to get her hands on the chilling evidence that will bring him down.
