How do I keep track of what the industry is up to?

The best way to do this is to subscribe to industry trades (magazines).

There are several great publications to which it would be worthwhile subscribing. These will keep you abreast of what's happening in the industry, the films in development and production, who's doing what, competitions, awards and so on.

INDUSTRY EVENTS

If you belong to the Australian Writers Guild (AWG), you will receive notifications of industry events in your area -- social events, screenings, Q&A sessions etc.  It's a good idea to mingle with industry colleagues -- you'll pick up information about what's going on out there and it's important to establish a presence.
