Should I join the Australian Writers Guild?

In a word, yes. The Australian Writers Guild (AWG) is an invaluable source of information and support as you forge your career as a screenwriter.

The AWG provide a variety of support services to writers including subsidised script assessments, legal advice, writers functions, notifications and even the chance to win free movie tickets.

As a member, you are also entitled to enter your script into Australia's most prestigious performance writing awards, the AWGies.  As an Associate Member (unproduced), the category open to you is the Monte Miller.  Once you're produced, you can become a full member and enter your film in to produced writer categories.

For more information on membership and services, check out their website at www.awg.com.au
